The New Industry, Connect Highland programme has been launched….
Schools and employers across the Highlands are coming together to design a new programme which will link classroom learning with actual work opportunities. It’s hoped that this will also help develop the Highlands future workforce. In particular the programme will focus throughout 2026-2027 on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The Scottish government has opened a Public consultation on the proposed fisheries management measures within the Marine Protected Area network.
Everyone who has an interest in Scotland’s marine environment are encouraged to take the opportunity to participate in the consultation and to share their news and opinions. The consultation will now run for an extended period until 18th January 2027.
The Rural, and Islands Bursary Fund has been launched.
The fund of up to £1,000 is for support to existing students at the University of the Highlands and Islands. Specific examples of how the fund can be used, are: Travel to attend conferences, equipment, book and study materials, or support for unexpected financial circumstances.

Ross County travels to Aberdeen to play Cove Rangers in League One. Cove is in second bottom place in the league while County will be hoping to maintain its unbeaten league record and its place at the top of the table.
Inverness Caley Thistle also has an away match when it plays Livingston, currently fourth in the Championship, three points ahead of Caley Thistle.
Both matches kick off at three o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
