A campaign is gathering pace for a banking hub in Dingwall, after the town’s Bank of Scotland branch closed, leaving much of Ross-shire without convenient access to a bank.
Sheila’s Community Café is asking residents in Dingwall and surrounding communities to complete a questionnaire on support for a shared hub, where different banks could provide services on different days.
Highland MSP Maree Todd says rural banking rules disadvantage smaller communities.
She points to Wick’s successful hub and says similar arrangements could serve communities across Wester Ross and wider Ross-shire.

Drivers using the A9 between the Tay Crossing and Ballinluig face two areas of overnight traffic restrictions from tonight.
At Dowally North Junction, three-way temporary signals and convoy working are being introduced as part of carriageway widening and lane re-alignment.
A second set of restrictions is now also confirmed north of the Jubilee Bridge, where two-way signals and convoy working will be used.
The restrictions will operate on around ten weekday nights, between seven in the evening and six in the morning.
Drivers travelling the full length of the route should allow extra time for their journey.
