Ullapool Primary School is to receive additional support after an Education Scotland inspection found it needed more time to make improvements.
Inspectors praised the warm, welcoming environment, positive relationships between staff and pupils, and efforts to increase Gaelic-medium education.
However, they indicated learning, teaching and assessment need to improve, along with attainment in literacy and numeracy.
The school also needs to strengthen Gaelic immersion and give pupils greater responsibility for their learning.
Inspectors will return within a year to assess progress.
Gairloch Coastal Rowing Club is among 85 Highland organizations to benefit from the Get Active Scotland Fund.
The club has received support for lightweight oars, a trailer and safety equipment, helping make rowing more accessible and increase participation locally.
The fund, which has awarded more than three-hundred-thousand pounds in grants, aims to encourage people to take part in sport and physical activity, particularly in rural and less-active communities.
Community groups across the Highlands can apply for grants of up to five-thousand pounds.
The application deadline for the next funding round is 2nd November.
Former Ross County manager Tony Docherty has been appointed head coach of Scotland’s Under-21 team.
Docherty will also take on a number of additional responsibilities with the Scottish FA.
They include leading a new Future Managers initiative, contributing to a new talent identification process and supporting four clubs through a new Club Growth Programme.
Docherty had a brief spell in charge of Ross County, taking over from Don Cowie in September 2025.
He left the club in December after just three months in the role.
