Highland Council has launched a new online platform to make it easier for people to engage with consultations..
The new online platform will allow anyone to see what projects and proposals are open for consultation and online engagement. This will apply to either residents, communities and also visitors too. The new site will also allow people to be automatically notified when consultations are launched in particular areas, or on particular topics too.
The Screen Machine is asking users to complete an online survey and by doing so, they could be in with a chance of wining a £200 voucher.
The survey is asking visitors and regular users to tell the Screen Machine what is working, what needs to change, and also what your own thoughts are about this unique mobile cinema covering the Highlands and Islands. The deadline to complete the survey is by Monday 29th June and the survey should only take 5-10 minutes to complete.
A teenager from Skye has performed a heroic effort at the weekend, by coming to the aid of 2 people who had got into difficulty in the water….
The 2 people had fallen into the water from a toy inflatable off the Isle of Skye. The RNLI volunteers from Kyle of Lochalsh were called to Broadford Bay, but upon arrival the crew discovered that a local teenager had spotted the people in distress, sailed out on his own and took them back to the shoreline safely. There were no injuries to the two men who had fallen into the water.
