BEAR Scotland are scheduled to begin maintenance work on the northbound carriageway of the A9 over Findhorn Bridge near Tomatin.

A 30mph contraflow traffic management system on the southbound carriageway will be in place for the full duration of the works.

To establish the contraflow, there will be various traffic management setups on both the northbound and southbound carriageways from tomorrow, Friday 25th April, until the works commence on Monday 28th April.

The works are expected to last eight weeks.


The Chair of the Highland Council Economy and Infrastructure Committee is appealing for responses to the ‘Call’ for Development Sites.

Landowners or developers wishing to gain in-principle support for a project in Highland any time over the next 10 years should act now by submitting a bid.

All submitted bids will be considered for inclusion in the Highland Local Development Plan.

The Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland is inviting pupils from the Scottish Highlands to take part in two exciting design competitions.

The competitions aim to inspire young minds while celebrating Royal Highland Education Trust’s ‘Year of Dairy’.

Primary school pupils are invited to design a unique rosette, while Secondary pupils (S1-S4) are challenged to create their own milk bottle brand.

The winning entries will be showcased at the 2025 Royal Highland Show in June.

The Young Women’s Movement is requesting nominations for its tenth annual ‘30 Under 30’ list.

The competition provides an opportunity to celebrate and recognize young women’s achievements.

Since its launch, the list has showcased some of Scotland’s most inspiring young artists, activists, volunteers and trail-blazers.
