A temporary roundabout on the A9 at Invereen, between Tomatin and Moy will become operational from tomorrow Thursday 24th April.

A speed restriction of 30mph will also be implemented on the approach to and from the roundabout.

Road users are advised to approach the area with care and allow extra time for their journeys whilst works are undertaken.

The roundabout is necessary to safely manage the interface between road users and site traffic at the main site compound at Invereen ahead of major construction work commencing.


Crown Estate Scotland’s Sustainable Communities Fund has awarded grants to two communities in Wester Ross.

Torridon District Community Association has been awarded twenty thousand pounds, towards the development of a new campsite in the area while Coigach Community Development Company has been awarded forty two and a half thousand, to go towards the costs of 10 community-owned affordable homes in Achiltibuie.

The Fund aims to support projects that may otherwise struggle to secure initial funding.


The Highland Council has appointed Bernadette Scott as Chief Officer Education – Primary and Early Years.

Ms. Scott has over thirty years’ experience in the field of education, most recently as Service Manager - Early Education and Childcare for Perth and Kinross Council.

Her strategic remit included raising attainment, performance and development of all education staff.

The appointment completes the new senior management structure of the council’s People Service Cluster under the leadership of Kate Lackie, Assistant Chief Executive for People.


Caley Thistle’s new owner Alan Savage will be on the panel of BBC Scotland’s Debate Night tonight at 9pm.

He is joined by MSPs Fergus Ewing (SNP), Edward Mountain (Conservative), Torcuil Crichton (Labour), and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch.

Debate Night is BBC Scotland’s political TV discussion show and provides the public with the opportunity to put questions to the country’s decision-makers and public figures.
