A flag-raising ceremony, to mark the beginning of Armed Forces Week, will take place this Monday, 22nd June, on The Inverness Castle Experience esplanade.
The short service, led by the Provost of Inverness, will begin at 10.45 with the flag-raising at 10.55.
The rite provides the opportunity for the city to show its continued support for the Armed Forces community, from currently serving personnel to Service Families, veterans, and cadets
The week culminates in Armed Forces Day next Saturday, when flags will be raised on buildings and landmarks around the country, including Inverness Town House and Highland Council’s Headquarters at Glenurquhart Road.
Gaelic song, storytelling, recitation and music take centre stage today as the Inverness Provincial Mòd is held at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness.
The annual celebration of Gaelic language and culture features more than 500 entries from competitors of all ages, all vying for top honours.
The event concludes on Saturday evening with an 8pm cèilidh at the new Bught Park Pavilion, featuring music from local band Tartan Paint and a fundraising raffle.
Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for children.
High Life Highland has appointed Michael Boylan as Chair of its Charity Board.
Currently Director of Strategy, People and Culture at UHI, he succeeds Michael Goulding after two years in the role.
Mr Boylan joined the Charity Board in March 2025 and has served on the Trading Board since 2022, becoming Chair in 2023.
High Life Highland’s directors guide the organization’s strategic direction and meet several times a year. Recruitment for new voluntary directors to join the Charity or Trading Board will begin soon.
