Scottish Land & Estates and the Scottish Gamekeepers Association are among those urging the Scottish Government to adopt a pragmatic approach to the introduction of muirburn licensing.
The advice follows the recent spate of wildfires and a concern that these could increase.
The complex technical requirements and application processes to be put in place before a licence is granted will leave many stakeholders unable to obtain one.
This could lead to large areas of land being unmanaged - increasing fuel loads which heightens the danger of devastating wildfires.
The Giant Bunny Takeover is at the centre of the Easter weekend activities hosted by The Eastgate Centre in conjunction with Inverness City Centre Business Improvement District.
The, as yet, nameless bunny can be found in Falcon Gallery near Caffery’s and New Look.
There is an open invitation to take a selfie and ‘Name the Bunny’. Entries can be made on Eastgate’s Facebook page until April 21st and the winner will be announced soon afterwards.
Other activities include an Easter Egg Hunt around the city centre, face painting and street entertainers.
Nominations are open for the 25th annual Prosper Business Excellence Awards for businesses which make a positive difference in their local Highlands and Islands communities.
Awards will be given in seven categories including ‘Purposeful Business’, ‘Excellence in Innovation and Customer Service’ and ‘Care and Experience’.
A spokesperson for the organizers said that the awards are designed to highlight the rich diversity of businesses in the Highlands and Islands and the vital role they play in Scotland’s economy.
The deadline for nominations is 21st May, with winners announced in September.
