A major new seabird research project is to be undertaken on the Summer Isles near Ullapool..
The project will involve UHI North, West and Hebrides and will focus on the Summer Isles area, and will also involve both The Tanera Project and local landowners. The study will track one of the UK’s smallest seabirds, the Storm Petrel and their migrating habits and breeding population.
Highland Council have advised of a temporary planned road closure of Poolewe Bridge on Thurs 24th September.
Poolewe Bridge on the A832 will be temporarily closed to allow for a bridge inspection.The road will be closed on Thursday 24 September between 9am and 12 noon, with timed access at 10am and 11am. Mackenzie and Maclennan have confirmed that this will delay the 707 Westerbus service that morning by approximately 35 minutes.

The National Youth Choir of Scotland is marking its 30th anniversary with the Launch of the Singing Time resource which will be provided online to all Primary Schools. It is hope that this will encourage the joy of singing back in our local classrooms. Featuring 15 songs and accompany singing games, the singing time website is now live at www.nycossingingtime.co.uk
