A planned military training exercise involving Loch Ewe  commences from tomorrow May 15th and runs until May 21st. 

Red Condor is designed to test the capabilities of the armed forces and is being conducted in various locations throughout the UK, including Highland.
The operation involves a helicopter drop of troops, and movement of small boats from Mellon Charles to landing points on or near Firemore beach.  Whilst there will be personnel on foot in the local area, troops have a brief to have little or no impact on the local community.

The Bridge of Hope community walk is set to take place in Inverness tomorrow, Thursday 15th May.

Organized as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, the reflective and inclusive route will pass through the centre of Inverness and culminate with refreshments at Ness Bank Church.

The event is open to everyone, whether they’re walking for themselves or a loved one, or for the future we want to see. No booking is necessary – the walk begins at 4pm at The Gathering Place, in Bught Road.


Almost ninety percent of parents across region are calling for financial education to become a core part of the school curriculum warning that today’s children are entering adulthood financially unprepared.

Research shows that financial literacy is fast becoming a top priority for families, although there is little consensus on when children should begin learning about money.

This underlines the need for structured financial education in schools, rather than relying on individual families to plug the gap.
