It has been confirmed that the popular StrathPetal Celebration of Gardening will take place in 2026 in a new one day format for this year. 

StrathPetal organisers have revealed that a Gardners Question Time session will take place at Strathpeffer Pavilion on June 6th, as part of a one day event for 2026. The full Open Garden weekend around Strathpeffer will return in 2027. However, the day in June this year will include 3 gardners from the local area. This will feature Will Soos (co-owner of the world famous Garden at 2 Durnamuck, Wester Ross); Pamela Sutherland (head Gardner at Inverness Botanical Garden) and Finlay Keiller from Seeds of Scotland.

Ullapool Charity Shop which is bursting at the seams is to expand with a new workshop repair shop.

The Lochbroom and Ullapool Community Trust has been awarded a grant of almost £47,000 from the Highland Council’s Reuse and Repair scheme to develop a New Broom Depot project. It is envisaged that the new Depot will receive donations, sort, clean, mend and store them ready for sale at their shop on Argyle Street, called the New Broom.

Inverness Caley Thistle plays its game in hand towards the top of League One tonight when it has an away match against Peterhead. If it wins, it will go to the top of the table by one point over Stenhousemuir with both teams having just three games left to play. Kick off is at 7.45 this evening.
