Highland MSP David Green, has urged the First Minister John Swinney to reform regional transport…

The request comes, following the withdrawal of a life-line bus route covering the Wick and Thurso areas, which gave vital access to the X99 service between Inverness and Scrabster. Mr Green has subsequently asked the First Minister to consider remodelling regional transport. This, he emphasised, is key for Highland Communities where no alternative transport is available, and where considerable distances can be involved. 

First Aid Training will be offered at 3 events taking place across Ross-shire and Sutherland next week…

Delivered in partnership with the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution, the training sessions are designed for everyone. These are specifically to encourage more open conversations about mental health, and to help people recognise when someone may be struggling. The Free sessions are taking place between 16th and 18th October, in Lochinver, Scourie and in Achiltibuie, Wester Ross.

Organisers have announced that tickets are already flying out of the door. Next year, the Festival hopes to spread its reach across multiple fields and will offer headline Acts including James, Fatboy Slim and Amy MacDonald. Another 300 further Artists across the whole weekend are still to be announcd.

Ross County has an away match today in League One against Montrose and will be hoping to retain its unbeaten league record and its place at the top of the table. Inverness Caley Thiistle's home match is against Stenhousemuir which is currently the leader of the Championship. Both games kick off at three o'clock this afternoon.
