Additional roadworks are to take place on the A835 at Little Garve from 8th June….
Access Point works are to take place, including Construction works on the A835 by Little Garve, to allow access to the Wester Isles HVDC link mainland corridor, on the unclassified road near Little Garve. The works which are due to begin on 8th June and are to last for 4-6 weeks, will take place during daytime hours only from Mon-Fri. Temporary traffic management may be required and there will be an increase in additional construction traffic in the area, with potential short delays.
Financial help has been announced for those starting primary school
Applications are now open for the Best Start Grant School Age payment. Families across Scotland, can apply for over £330 to help with the costs of preparing for Primary School. The payment is available to eligible families with children born between 1st March 2021 and 28th Feb 2022. The grant is designed to ease some of the financial pressure in starting school, and the money can be spent on any family needs, such as clothes, stationery or school trips.
Highland Council has launched its Highland Motorhome and Campervan Scheme for 2026
Members can apply to the Highland Council for £40 for a 7 day permit which allows Motorhome and Campervan users to stay overnight in a variety of 12 designated car parks in the Highland Area. This also includes free access to showers and changing facilties for 2 Adults and unlimited children at any High Life Highland leisure centre in a 7 day period.
