Wester Loch Ewe Trust announced on Friday that their bid for funding from the Scottish Land Fund, to acquire land at Poolewe for affordable housing and other community projects, has been unsuccessful.

The Trust said that, while the outcome was disappointing, it may not affect the delivery of affordable housing as they intend to look at re-applying in the next round of funding.

If successful, then preliminary work could start in 2028 as originally planned.

The impact on the other proposed community projects will have to be assessed.
