A Wester Ross community garden has been presented with a prestigious national award.

Gairloch Sitooterie team member David Carruthers collected the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society's Certificate of Merit award at a ceremony in Edinburgh last week.

The award is in recognition of Gairloch Sitooterie's highly regarded and significant contribution to horticulture and gardening in Scotland with many features exemplary and of importance for other coastal communities to learn from.
David said that the award was not only a tribute to the Sitooterie volunteer team, but also to the countless other supporters who have helped in so many ways to make the garden such a success.

The Sitooterie is one of only 5 groups in Scotland to have been selected for this award.
