Dundonnel Mountain Rescue Team has expressed its condolences to the family of a fifty-eight-year-old who lost his life on An Teallach last week.
A statement released late on Thursday stated that –
“On the 19th of February the team deployed to An Teallach to search for three walkers who’d called for assistance.
After many hours of searching, the team located two of the walkers, one requiring hospital treatment.
Sadly, with the assistance of RAF Lossiemouth, the body of their companion was recovered the next day.
Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends at this sad time.”
Police Scotland said an inquiry was ongoing.
The Highland Council will meet next Thursday to consider a three-year financial plan, which sets out recommendations to deliver a balanced budget alongside proposals for targeted support, investment and community support.
If approved, Council Tax would rise by seven percent, with five percent allocated to essential Council services and two percent designated for the Highland Investment Plan.
Twelve-point-two million pounds of new investment will be allocated to strengthen key services and support.
In addition, the proposal includes a package to address a projected forty-six-million-pound shortfall. This will include increased council tax on second homes and vacant properties.
Budget consultation was conducted with community councils, business groups, youth, and the public late last year.
… and in the football …
Ross County has a home match in the SPFL Championship against Raith Rovers.
Raith is one of three teams seven points ahead of County in the league so County will be trying not to lose more ground to all the teams above it.
In League One, leader Inverness Caley Thistle has an away game against Kelty Hearts, which is bottom of the league.
Both matches kick off at three o'clock this afternoon.
