A record six and a half thousand cyclists took part in the 12th edition of Etape Loch Ness at the weekend.
The sold out event saw riders complete the 66 mile route around Loch Ness with participants travelling from across the UK and around the world to take part.
It also has just been announced that registration has now opened for the 2027 event, where interest can now be registered for priority entry for the route around the stunning shores of Loch Ness on 25th April 2027.
Sea Watch Foundation is calling for support from individuals, businesses or community partners to contribute and help make an everlasting impact on marine conservation…..
With the help of the public, Sea Watch Foundation is hoping to boost its marine conservation efforts to protect whales and dolphins across the Scottish Coast. Celebrating its 15th year, they are planning Orca Watch, which is a nine-day annual in May event based in John o’ Groats, with observation sites across Caithness, North Sutherland, and the Orkney and Shetland Islands.
And ……A Wester Ross young chap has been showing initiative in litter picking in his home village:
Hector Ross MacLean aged 7 of Poolewe, Wester Ross, has been collecting wind-blown litter in the middle of Poolewe, near St Maelrubba’s Church, following local storms in the area. Meanwhile, Poolewe has been also running an initiative to provide extra signage and poo bags to help keep dog mess to a minimum.
