BEAR Scotland has advised of further overnight traffic management on the Tomatin to Moy section of the A9 Dualling project.
Temporary traffic signals and a short lane closure will be in operation on the A9 at the Lynebeg realignment from 7:30pm tonight until 6am tomorrow morning.
These traffic signals will be manned at all times to manage traffic flow.
Drivers should be aware that temporary traffic lights currently installed for ongoing planned works in the Tomatin area will continue to operate.
As a result, there will be two sets of traffic signals to navigate during these essential maintenance activities.
Black Isle Calling, the two-day music festival scheduled for 11th and 12th September this year, has been cancelled.
The event, which has been held at the Black Isle Brewery farm since 2023, appealed to many festival-goers looking for its eclectic mix of artists and DJs.
Citing line-up challenges, a new album release and an “intense touring schedule” for Elephant Sessions – the award-winning indie-folk band from the Highlands – the organizers have made the decision to take a year off.
Individuals who have already purchased tickets will receive a full refund.
SSEN Distribution has delivered the first of twenty thousand home battery packs to customers in need of the most support.
The aim is to minimize the impact of any period without power on customers who are medically dependent on electricity.
The packs can also be used with items providing light and heat, to charge mobile phones and laptops, or to power broadband routers.
The packs will be provided at no cost to people who meet certain specific criteria, and who are signed up for Priority Services.
Customers do not need to apply for a battery; they will be contacted based on their situation and frequency of local power outage.
