Culvert replacement works on the A832, approximately five miles south of Dundonnell, will begin next week.
Single-lane traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works.
The initial phase will utilize a twenty-four-hour convoy system, with traffic lights employed for subsequent stages.
The traffic management area will cover approximately five hundred meters at a time, delays are not expected to exceed fifteen minutes.
The works, which are an integral part of SSEN Transmission’s Western Isles Mainland Cable installation, are expected to take two to three months.
Independent Age have welcomed news that the Scottish Government will double the level of support available to Scottish households who use oil to power their home.
About one-hundred-and-fifty thousand households use heating oil, and average costs in Scotland more than doubled between 28th February and 8th March.
The Scottish government said its emergency heating oil scheme would be launched on 1st April, with details on eligibility criteria to be released in coming days.
Reacting to the news, the charity said that it was vital that support reaches older people on low incomes as soon as possible, as the scale of the need is significant.
