The Highland Council has launched a public consultation on how Community Councils in the area are created and governed and is keen to hear views from Community Councils and the wider public seeking further ideas and suggested changes to the Scheme.

A new exhibition exploring Scotland from the sky featuring images from the National Collection of Aerial Photography has opened at Fort George near Ardesier and will run until 27th April. The Scottish collection of aerial photographs held by NCAP which is part of Historic Environment Scotland is one of the largest collections in the world with more than 30 million images in its care from every continent.
The exhibition called Celebrating Scotland’s Landscapes will showcase ancient settlements, recent ruins and the ways people have made an impact on the natural world, as well as how people have interacted with the landscape for thousands of years. Images on display include an oblique aerial view of the Glenfinnan Viaduct, a stretch of General Wade’s Military Road from Dalwhinnie to Fort Augustus and aerial photographs of Achanaird Bay in Wester Ross.
Ross County paid tribute yesterday, to former manager Jimmy Calderwood who has died at the age of sixty nine.
Calderwood, who took charge of the Staggies in February 2011 until the end of the season, was diagnosed with early onset dementia in 2017. The club said that everyone was deeply saddened to hear of Jimmy’s death and that their thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

In the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday, Ross County conceded a goal in the last minute of extra time and lost three two to Livingston, the match having finished level at two each after normal time.
In League One, Inverness closed the gap on the teams above it when it beat Annan Athletic three nil and is now just four points behind Annan with a game in hand.
