Planning permission has been granted for the erection of staff accommodation on a site currently used for equipment storage at the Bakkafrost Scotland Hatchery site at Applecross near to Kishorn port.

The planning approval which will last for five years allows 20 accommodation units in two rows of ten as well as twelve individual units, a static caravan, two welfare units, a drying room and parking spaces. The statement supporting the application refers to the difficulty in recruiting and retaining skilled staff due to the lack of suitable local housing options so the provision of temporary accommodation is necessary while permanent options are secured.
