The Scottish Government is warning people to beware of winter heating payment scams pointing out that most winter heating payments will be made automatically.
There have recently been a number of instances of messages stating that people are missing out on financial help and giving a link supposedly for details to be updated or for application to be made for benefits.
Social Security Scotland has made it clear that it will never ask for personal or financial details by text or email or ask people to reply by text or email. Information on benefits is available on official channels, such as the Social Security Scotland website and social media accounts. If anyone is unsure if they are eligible or are worried they will not receive a payment they are eligible for, they are asked to get in touch with Social Security Scotland directly.
Twenty five wooden benches in Ullapool are to be replaced by new benches made from recycled plastic with funding support from Ullapool Harbour Trust, North Highland Initiative and Lodge St Martin along with a contribution of £2.400 from Highland Council’s Discretionary Fund.
