Human remains were discovered last week during renovation work being carried out at Badentarbat Lodge in Coigach.
The Lodge is on Badentarbat Estate which was purchased last year, funded by Ian Wace, to assist Coigach Community Development Company build affordable homes, with Mr Wace keeping a portion of the land himself.
The remains comprised a human skull which the police subsequently confirmed as historic.
Kintail Mountain Rescue Team was called out on Saturday to assist a skier who had fallen in Glen Shiel.
Four team members were transported to the scene by helicopter with other members co-ordinating the operation from the team base. When cloud cleared, the casualty was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital while other members of the skiing party were escorted off the mountain.
Kintail Mountain Rescue Team is made up entirely of volunteers and relies on donations to fund its work.
The annual Bealach Na Ba Cycle Sportive has been taken over by Shieldaig Community Association and will take place this year on Saturday 17th May.
Over 330 entries have already been received, a significant increase on the number of participants last year with the route of 45 miles being described as the United Kingdom’s prettiest and most challenging bike ride.
A spokesperson for the organisers has confirmed that all proceeds from the event will go directly to local causes to give a lasting positive impact for the community while every entrant will be entered into a prize draw to win a brand new Kinesis road bike.

The League One match scheduled on Saturday between Inverness Caley Thistle and Stenhousemuir was postponed on account of parts of the Inverness pitch being frozen. The game has been rescheduled and will now take place on Tuesday 11th March
