The deadline is approaching to register to vote in the Scottish Parliament election

With the Scottish Parliament election taking place on Thursday 7 May, electors in the three Highland constituencies are being urged to ensure they are registered to vote before the deadline for receipt of applications which is midnight next Monday the 20th April. People will receive a poll letter to tell them where to go to cast their vote.

If you've received a poll letter for the Scottish Parliament Election 2026 you don't need to register to vote again unless your circumstances have changed.

All 7 Constituency candidates, 9 Regional List only parties and 2 Independent Regional Candidates have been invited and the event will be chaired by Anne Wood. Questions for the candidates can be submitted in advance by email to the Chair of Lochbroom Community Council. 

It has been announced that the Summer Isles Festival will return in 2027…

The Summer Isles Festival, in the Coigach region will take place in Achiltibuie on 1st May next year. The initial line up will feature Shooglenifty, Fras, and the Mairearad Green Ceilidh Band among others. Full details are available on their website, with more artists to be announced in due course.
