Highland Community Broadband have announced the continuation of their service following a formal proposal to take over the company... 

It was expected that Highland Community Broadband would be wound up by the end of April. However, an email was sent to all current subscribers last week, announcing that a proposal from Scotnet has been received. Scotnet has now agreed to buy the network and to continue operations with the expected take over to be complete by May.

Two new exhibitions get underway this week at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, presenting compelling contemporary work across visual art and film…

The New Highland Graduates exhibition returns after a break of 10 years, meanwhile visitors can also view ‘Who will be remembered here’ by Artists Lewis Hetherington and C J Mahoney. The New Highland Graduates show presents work by ten emerging Artists who graduated between 2022 and 2025, and celebrates the strength and diversity of Contemporary creative work emerging from the Highlands and Islands. 
Both exhibitions open to the Public from Saturday 14th February at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. 

Organisers of the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival have revealed that last year’s event generated almost £8m in net impact for the Highlands. 

An economic study has found that the total impact of last year’s event was £11.2m across the whole of Scotland, a figure which has significantly grown since the festival’s inception. Belladrum started with a one day event in 2004 and has now grown to cover three days and attracts people from all over Scotland.

In its first match for six years on Saturday, Gairloch & Aultbea United beat North West Skye four one in a friendly game at home.

Professionally, Inverness Caley Thistle beat East Fife three nil in League One and moves three points clear at the top of the table having played the same number of games as second placed Stenhousemuir.
