Planned roadworks are scheduled to take place on the A96, west of Inverness Airport, from Monday 9thJune to Friday 18th July.

Work will be carried on weekdays from 9.30am to 3.30pm between the Dalcross junction and Inverness Airport roundabout, with two sets of traffic lights in place. Road users including airport travellers are asked to allow extra time for their journey.

 

HM Coastguard has launched a recruitment campaign for volunteers to be based in various locations throughout the Highland region including Applecross, Gairloch, Ullapool and Achiltibuie.

 

Applicants must be available to attend a 6 day training course in Inverness from 27th October for which accommodation will be provided, with some online training also to be completed. A PVG certificate is needed for which HM Coastguard will assist. Further details are available on the Coastguard Facebook page and website.

 

The Joint Administrators of Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club have confirmed that a Company Voluntary Arrangement based on an offer to purchase the club from Alan Savage has been approved by creditors and shareholders allowing the club to exit administration and retain its place in League One of the SPFL.

The club will now operate under the CVA for a short period of time under the management of Alan and his team. Once the final costs are determined and the relevant dividends paid to creditors then the CVA process will be brought to a close and the club will exit administration. It is anticipated that this process will conclude in early July 2025. 

 

 

Furniture retailer Ikea has received permission to install delivery storage lockers in the car park of the Tesco store at Inshes Retail Park in Inverness. Currently Ikea runs a mobile pick up point at the site but the permanent facility will enable customers to collect goods ordered online at any time round the clock.

 

The facility will comprise a block of 40 storage lockers of varying sizes with a drive through loading area and appropriate illuminated signage which planners confirm will be in keeping with existing buildings in the retail park and no neighbours will be directly affected.
