The ‘Invitation to Pay’ car parking scheme has raised almost twenty-five thousand pounds in the Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh Council Ward in the last financial year.
The scheme, which invites users in council car parks to give a voluntary contribution to park, gives 50 per cent of nett income to the ward.
In Wester Ross eleven thousand four hundred pounds was generated in the Latheron car park, Ullapool, one thousand two hundred in the Gairloch Harbour car park, and one thousand five hundred in the Little Gruinard car park.
Local groups and trusts are encouraged to identify community priority projects which could benefit from a share of this money.
The Highland Council is calling on all businesses to take part in a wide-scale survey about housing shortage and its impact on the Highland economy.
The survey aims to assess whether local businesses and employers are struggling to recruit or retain staff due to a lack of housing, and whether housing shortage is a barrier to growing the economy in Highland.
Survey results will be used to inform the planning process to ensure that the right number of homes are developed in Highland in the short, medium and longer term.
The survey will close on Monday 1st December and can be accessed via the link on the RWR website.

Structural repair work to twenty-five concrete columns at Rose Street multi-storey car park in Inverness has begun this week
As the columns are critical to the stability of the building, temporary propping will be installed around the worst effected columns to ensure the structural safety of the building during the works.
The car park will remain open during the works, and Permit holders on the ground floor will be temporarily relocated for the duration.
