Radio Wester Ross is one of five organizations that will share in the latest round of Community Regeneration Funds, it was announced yesterday.
The grant will go towards the fifty-five-thousand-pound project to refurbish the studio in Gairloch and reopen, upgrade and equip the Ullapool studio.
Other recipients of funding include Wester Loch Ewe Trust - who received forty thousand pounds towards the cost of a community land acquisition near Poolewe - and Torridon District Community Association for improvements to the community centre.
Councillor Biz Campbell said that the projects would improve facilities and local services at the very heart of the communities.
The Inverness Bonfire and Fireworks display 2025 will take place tomorrow, 5th November, at Bught Park.
The catering village will open at 5pm, followed at 6pm by the lighting of one of the largest bonfires in Scotland, thanks to the donation of hundreds of pallets by the local business community.
The 20-minute musical fireworks display, staged by the award winning Fireworx Scotland team, will start at approximately 7pm.
The civic event is free to attend and thousands of visitors are expected. Drivers, other than blue badge holders, are asked to use the city centre car parks, and pedestrians are reminded that Infirmary Bridge is closed.
Preparatory works have begun on the fourth section of A9 Dualling, between the Tay Crossing and Ballinluig.
The project, which will continue until early 2026, involves establishment of the temporary site compound and office space area between Guay and Kindallachan, the creation of access points along the section to facilitate works traffic, tree felling operations and works to facilitate utility diversions.
The contract for the section was awarded to Wills Bros Civil Engineering Ltd earlier this year, and the full two hundred and fifty seven million pound development will see 5 miles of single carriageway upgraded to dual carriageway.
