A young filmmaker from Inverness have been nominated for a prestigious 2026 Award…. 

Education charity, Into Film, has announced the nominees for this years Film Awards, and amongst them, is a young filmmaker from the Highland capital. 
In the Best Short Story Category, ‘Flashing Life’ made by Gabriel Newman from Inverness has been shortlisted. 

NHS 24 is warning people to check for tick bites as the outdoor season is upon us. 

As the weather improves, NHS 24 is reminding the public to be aware of ticks and to check for bites, especially after outdoor activities. Ticks are most regularly found where wildlife or livestock is present. They also are found in long grass, woodland and overgrown areas. If a tick is found, it should be removed entirely with a Tick remover as soon as possible, as undetected Ticks and bites could lead to the risk of Lyme Disease.

In the last round of regular season fixtures this evening, Ross County needs to win its away match against Raith Rovers to have any chance of remaining in the Championship next season and even that may not be sufficient depending on the result of the game between Greenock Morton and Airdrieonians. Both these games kick off at 7.45 this evening with County's match being televised live on BBC Scotland.

Inverness Caley Thistle plays its last regular season match tomorrow knowing that a draw in its home game against Hamilton Academical will be sufficient to see it promoted to the Championship next season as Champions of League One. Kick off is at three o'clock.
