The Highland Council is developing a new Local Transport Strategy for the next 10 years which will underpin the future direction and policy focus for transport in the area. The strategy covers all aspects of transport including the road network, walking, wheeling, cycling, public transport, community transport, ferries, aviation, freight, and the safety and resilience of the transport network.
It is closely connected to the emerging Highland Development Plan which will set out the long-term vision for where development should and shouldn’t take place across the Highland area. Public consultation on the transport startegy is being invited and will be accepted until Tuesday 3rd December via the Council’s website.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle's administrators say they have received 20 expressions of interest to buy the League One club. BDO said potential buyers of the 2015 Scottish Cup winners would be sent details outlining the investment opportunity in the coming days.
The firm thanked the local community for their support for the club while the process is ongoing. A spokesperson confirmed that there have been many inquiries from people wanting to help and support the club financially with some enquirers questioning where the funds will go. BDO stressed that all funds raised will be used towards the running costs of the club and will not be expended on professional fees or to pay historical creditors.

Organisers say the event is the first of this scale in Inverness in a long time so it’s going to be something special for the Highlands.
